New company namecard

Hey.. I just received my new company namecard! After 3 weeks. Just wonder why they are not packed into plastic boxes instead of just tied with rubber band. How come there is a white sheet of paper to separate them?

My 12th day

I am surprised that time really flies and it is my 12th day at my new workplace. First week was very stressed. My senior, Kenneth had to handover as much as he could before he went for reservist. I had to figure out myself on the second and third week.

I am handling International Business and Post-grad courses marketing portfolio and these are very new to me. I was from a IT software marketing background. To switch to Education industry was a hard decision for me to leave my 8 years in SAP. There is no turning back. But I began to like and appreciate this new job - new challenge, new colleagues, new culture, new policies, etc. I could not imagine another 8 years in SAP though.

If you are looking for an upgrade, drop me a note.

Race Challenge for Love

My husband and I participated in the Race Challenge for Love last sat. That was one of the marriage campaign by MCYS. The meeting point was at NAFA in the morning. We received an early bird prize. It is a love game that is ideal for husband and wife to play.

The program started with the game rules and some warmups sessions. First, we played the balloon game. The husband has to blow the ballroom, but tying of the knot has to be done by each of us, using one of our hands. It was difficult but fun. After tying, we have to press the ballroom against one of our legs and race to the finishing line.

The second game was to draw a picture. One of us will describe, the other will draw based on the description. After that, we had a short marriage counselling session.

Lunch was provided and we could not start the race on time due to the heavy rain and thunderstorm. The organizer taught us head and shoulder massage and it was great for us to learn and massage each other the right way.

Lucky after the massage session, the rain stopped and we proceed with the race. We went to Fort Canning (to look for 13 wood scruptures, spices), Plaza Singapura ( to play bingo and find passer-bys to help us complete the bingo), Indian Sarie emporium (my hubby helped me to put on), waterloo street (for Hanna painting - my hubby drew on my hand and orgami).

We completed the race half an hour before the race and had a drink at TCC.

We will join next year...

Farewells

It was fun to have 3 types of farewells over the week with the girls, plus lots of free lunches. (Thanks to all treaters!) Can you imagine that my weight-loss program is drifting further and further?

The girls gave me a lunch, then karaoke then clubbing at St James - Movida. The clubbing was an eye opener for me who do not dance as entertaining as Madeline, who is a natural clubber. I tried a cocktail called Gin Fritzz (Gin, Lime and 7-Up) and Chivas with Green Tea. Nice drinks.

Lets recall what I had for my farewells at a company for 8 years.
